Beswick Bulldog, seated, (Model No. 3379). Beswick started making earthenware in Staffordshire, England, in 1936. The company is now part Royal Doulton Tableware, Ltd. Figurines of animals are still being made, but many molds are discontinued. This lovely piece, designed by Warren Platt, is 2 1/4" tall and has a gloss finish. The bulldog is white with a pale tan patch over one eye. The mark says "BESWICK ENGLAND". $70 (Shipping Charge B)
